counterfeit notes

hi, i see counterfeit AUD notes for sale all the time on FB and instagram. some accounts are clearly fake, others seem quite legitimate. is counterfeit cash still possible? if it is why isnt everyone doing it? it seems too good to be true. most probably because it is lol. has anyone had any experience? and if it is still a thing today can someone point me in the right direction? thanks in advance
