Brazil's Embraer, which is now considered the third-largest aircraft manufacturer after Boeing and Airbus, was the victim of a ransomware cyberattack last month.
Now hackers who compromised the aircraft company's network have published some of the confidential data, as Embraer refused to negotiate and decided to restore systems from backups on its own without paying a ransom.
According to ZDNet, the Embraer files were posted on a darknet website run by the RansomExx cybercrime group (also known as Defray777). The published data included employee information, business contracts, flight simulation photos, and source code.
The data leak confirms that hackers managed to steal information from the company's servers. Earlier, representatives of the company admitted that cybercriminals had access "only to the company's archive environment", but did not say what information was stolen.
