U.S. President Donald Trump has signed a clemency order for Ross Ulbricht, the founder and administrator of the Silk Road marketplace. The announcement was made by the President on his Truth Social account.
Ulbricht, also known as "Dread Pirate Roberts", was arrested in October 2013 at a public library in San Francisco. He faced charges of drug trafficking, computer hacking and money laundering. In 2015, he was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole following a jury's guilty verdict.
