How does @SDBB_Bot on Telegram work?

So there is this Raven bot on Telegram for checking cards. It has "auth gates" and "charge gates". The description for the auth gates is "Verifies the card's validity and ensures that the data matches the information on file with the issuing bank for that card.". The description for the charge gates is "Initiates a charge on the card by deducting the specified amount from the cardholder's account.". Does this checker work differently than traditional checkers (e.g. Luxchecker)? Is it likely to kill the card?
