Sberbank said that there was no leakage of customer data of "Sberpremier".
The data, the announcement of the sale of which appeared recently on the Internet, does not contain bank secrecy. This is how Sberbank commented on the message about the sale of customer data to SberPremier.
On April 14, an announcement appeared on the Internet about the sale of customer data to "SberPremier" — a special program of Sberbank for servicing regular customers on privileged terms.
According to the seller of the database, it contains 500 thousand records about customers, and the data was uploaded by a bank employee.
A quick check by RBC journalists using a transfer via Sberbank Online showed that the customer data from the probe coincided with the real ones. Then, by calling, six clients from the list in the probe confirmed to RBC the authenticity of their full name and phone number, and one said that he was a client of the Sberbank Premier program.
Such data is used by phone scammers to mislead people (methods of social engineering), the representative of Sberbank explained. "In no case should you disclose your bank card details, accounts, verification SMS codes and other information to outsiders. If you are asked for such information by phone, you need to immediately stop the conversation and call back to your bank at the official numbers, " he reminded.
